School Supplies Fund
The School Supplies Fund was established by the Anthony Spano Foundation of Youngstown, Ohio to help primary and secondary school teachers, students and communities and help purchase much-needed classroom supplies for their underprivileged students. In 2015, there was a staggering 12,537,000 children living in poverty in the United States. In 2016, there were 525,000 children in Ohio living in poverty and the July 2016 census reported that 96,366 people in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties live in poverty.
The children are the ones who feel the impact of poverty the most … at home and at school. Many families are unable to afford the much-needed school supplies to help their young ones succeed. And many school systems no longer have the budgets to provide teachers and their students with many of even the most basic classroom needs.
This fund will help kids learn and achieve better educational outcomes. Let us help our local educators, teachers, students & administrators with the necessary supplies. Our Goal is to raise an endowment of $10,000.
This will allow us to provide annual support for the programs and school districts in the area to give school supplies. Can you help us reach our goal? You will be able to apply for financing and funds your classroom in the future.
Ohio Education Association Educational Foundation made a generosity donation of $4,100 in the Summer of 2018, which will make it possible for the Spano Foundation to establish this new school supply fund.
